We’ve been serving up our cold brew at events all summer long and we’ve had nothing but glowing reviews! Many people ask us how they can cold brew their Doi Chaang at home, so we’ve put together a guide for those who want to give it a try (it’s easier than you think!).

For these events, we brew massive batches with industrial equipment, so our measurements and process are quite different than they are for our personal batches. As always, recipes can be modified for personal taste preferences!

You’ll need:

  • 1/3 cup whole Doi Chaang Coffee beans – we prefer Buzzin’ or Social Medium
  • 1 1/2 cups cold water, preferably filtered
  • Ice
  • Milk or your favourite milk alternative
  • Sweeteners, such as flavored syrups, caramel, or melted chocolate (if you’d like!)

Equipment

  • Coffee grinder
  • French press

Instructions

Grind the coffee beans: Grind 1/3 cup of coffee beans until they are coarse enough to be filtered by the French press, yet fine enough to infuse well.

Combine the ground coffee and water in the French press: Pour the ground coffee into the French press and top with 1 1/2 cups of water.

Stir to incorporate:Gently stir the coffee with the water until well-blended.

Put on French press lid:Make sure the plunger is in the up position.

Steep the coffee overnight in the fridge: Leave the plunger in the up position so the grounds infuse the water overnight.

Plunge to separate the coffee from the grounds: The next morning, plunge the French press to separate the coffee from the grounds.

Make your iced coffee: This will be a cold brew CONCENTRATE! If drinking black, top up with 1/3 cold water. If adding milk or milk alternatives, top up with 1/3 of this. Then add ice and your preferred sweetener and enjoy!

*We suggest trying the coffee black before adding anything. Cold brewing makes a smooth, less acidic cup and many people are surprised at how tasty it is without cream or sugar!
